Differences ?

Thursday 11 March 2021

There is no difference ; all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:22,23

They are freely declared righteous by his grace, by means of the liberation which is found in Jesus Christ. Romans 3:24

Differences ?

There are many differences between humans (fortune, education, religion, lifestyle, etc.). But on the moral level, there is no difference for God : "All have sinned", he solemnly declares. "There is no righteous man on earth who does good" (Ecclesiastes 7. 20). The apostle Paul will say : "There is no difference ; all have sinned and come short of the glory of God". God considers them all to be disobedient. Why ? To condemn them ? No ! "To give thanks to all" (Romans 11:32).

God wants to forgive our sins, and he even has the power to erase them, to drive out all that is negative in us, and to open access to his paradise to all who believe in Jesus. There is one God and one Mediator between God and men, "one man, Jesus Christ, who gave himself as a ransom for all" (1 Timothy 2, 5, 6). God's desire is to make us all righteous, to give us access to true happiness, with him. Christ's sacrifice is sufficient for this.

There is indeed a capital difference between men. Why ? Because it "has more for God to save believers through the foolishness of preaching" (1 Corinthians 1:21), the only criterion which makes the difference between them. Some do not believe God and do not want his plan of salvation, they are lost. The others believe it. They recognize themselves as sinners, repent and receive the grace of God for all their faults. They are saved forever.

One day it will be too late to believe. Do not wait !
