Distribute all his food to the poor (continued)

Sometimes I'm tired of holding back love. I would like to take in my arms all the people I meet, then... I hold back love. I think, I meditate, I think, and I do nothing. Giving our goods to the poor does not make us a person who loves people, just like thinking of doing them good either. Our faith must be active through love. Love is what will triumph over everything. It is better to die in love than to live by hating or despising our neighbor.

We have too often spiritualized God's action on earth. We have forgotten that he wanted to go through men to love. The love of God is shown in all his creation. Only the blind of heart can not see the greatness of his love. The love of God is everywhere, but we can despise that love and remain indifferent to it. Men use the breath of their mouth to curse the God who gave it to them. They use the limbs that God has formed to sin against him. This is the whole carnal man. He uses what God has given him as an instrument of rebellion and malice.

We are the salt of the earth, we are the light of the world, but if we have no taste, or if we remain hidden, without enlightening anyone, we are useless. To have salt is good, but this salt is totally useless as long as I do not use it. It reminds me of homes abandoned following a death. When you empty their kitchen, you'll find a pepper shaker and a salt shaker, whose pepper and salt are no longer used for anything. And, usually, since the pepper shaker and salt shaker are not really up to date, they are thrown in the trash, including salt and pepper. God has poured into our hearts his love, but what good is this love if we do not pour it on others ? It only serves to be thrown out (Matthew 5:13).

In fact, I think we have not understood or realized that deep in our heart, there is really a source of love. This source must pour on others. To give one's goods to people is good, but to love is better !
