God in these last days has spoken to us through the Son, whom he has made heir of all things, by whom he also created the world, and who, being the reflection of his glory and the mark of his person, and sustaining all things by his mighty word. Hebrews 1. 2, 3

Divinity of Christ

Recently a person asked me : "Is Jesus Christ God ? Or is he only his Son ?"

This is a fundamental question. The Bible tells us : "You have eternal life, you who believe in the name of the Son of God" (1 John 5:13). Our faith rests on a person. So it's important to know who you believe in.

Jesus Christ came to earth to bear the sins of all those who recognize themselves as sinners and turn to him. Each of them is then sure to be forgiven, and Christ becomes the center of his life.

In the Bible God mysteriously reveals himself distinctly as : God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

The Gospel of John particularly presents the divinity of Jesus. He himself declares : "I and the Father are one" (John 10.30) "If you knew me, you would also know my Father... He who has seen me has seen the Father" (14.7, 9). If Christ is presented as the Word made flesh (1.14), it is written : "The Word was God" (1.1).

"Christ, who is over all things, God blessed forever" (Romans 9:5).

Jesus Christ, divine person, therefore became a man, like us, but without sin, while keeping his divine nature. He took our human condition. He alone could be mediator between God and men, "Jesus Christ, the man, who gave himself a ransom for all" (1 Timothy 2. 5, 6). What a mystery the Bible reveals to us! God spoke to us in his Son... Yes, I know who I believe !
