No one knows the Son except the Father ; no one knows the Father either, except the Son and the one to whom the Son wishes to reveal him. Matthew 11. 27
God, in these last days, has spoken to us through the Son. He established him as the heir of everything and it was also through him that he created the universe. Hebrews 1.2
Do I want to know God ?
Are you looking for proof of the existence of God ? It's understandable. But before asking the question of the existence of God, shouldn't we ask ourselves : "Do I really want to know him ?" To those who seek him, the Bible answers : "You will seek me, and you will find me" (Jeremiah 29:13).
If we seek to know God with our understanding, by our efforts, he will remain unknown. God is spirit ; therefore, the human eye cannot see it. And pride leads us to refuse to believe what our eyes cannot see or what our reason cannot understand.
However, God reveals himself because he loves his creature and has always wanted to have a relationship with humans. It is he who approaches us, who seeks us.
After speaking through the prophets, he spoke to us through his Son Jesus Christ. The love of God was demonstrated when he sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him (1 John 4: 9).
The Gospels attest that Jesus Christ came to earth to make God known to us. He was able to say : "He who has seen me has seen the Father" (John 14. 9).
God "desires that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth". What is it ? That every man is a sinner before him, but also that Jesus "gave himself as a ransom for all" (1 Timothy 2. 4-6). It is through Jesus alone and through his perfect work that I know God.
