Do not be afraid !

Matthew 8:26 - Jesus answered them : “Why are you afraid ? How low your confidence is !".

At the command of Jesus, the disciples crossed the Lake of Galilee. Sudden storms are frequent in this area and the disciples were used, at least for some of them, to these circumstances, but this storm was not "natural".

However, Jesus was sleeping peacefully in the boat. I would like to start a few small avenues for meditation : First, the disciples are in the will of God. They do what Jesus asks, that does not prevent the storm. Being in the will of God does not mean that we will not have difficult situations, but we have the certainty that our Lord has the power to help us out.

Second : all of our wisdom, knowledge, experience, know-how cannot help us in "supernatural" situations. God is the only one who can give us the gifts and the authority necessary to come out of this.

Finally, we will always have the impression that the Lord is sleeping, or that He is not listening, or that He is not interested in us as long as we struggle for ourselves ! With one word the Lord can change your situation, even if it is hopeless on the human face. Do not be afraid and trust Him.
