Do not be blinded by prejudices

"He got up, and left. Now an Ethiopian eunuch, a high official of Candace, the Queen of Ethiopia, and administrator of all his treasures, had come to Jerusalem to worship." (Acts 8:27)

This verse gives us some important details concerning the profile of this man (his race, his functions, his social life). He was Ethiopian, so of foreign origin. He was a believer, a minister, devoted to the service of his queen, and he also had the peculiarity of being a eunuch. Obviously, if the Lord took care to include these details in the story, it is because they are important.

We can not ignore the lives of people around us, their origin, their social status, their way of life. If God is interested in men, we must be interested in them too. May God keep us prejudices ! If Philippe had had any, he might have said, "Oh ! A stranger ! What is he doing here in my country ? It seems he is a minister ! Everyone knows that politicians are liars. I'm wasting my time with people like that... And then, it's said that he's a eunuch... rather weird... I do not approach that kind of person !". If Philip had been a man easily influenced by prejudices, obviously he would not have taken the time to share the gospel with this man.

The Bible teaches us that God loves all men and does not accept anyone (Romans 2:11). God hates sin, it's true, but he loves sinful men! Let us never be blinded by our prejudices !

Let's look at men and their aspirations. To communicate well with a person, one must first of all try to understand it, to know one's life, one's environment, etc. It is important to be interested in what she feels, the needs she experiences.
