Do not be negligent in the prayer

There are severe consequences to neglecting prayer. The Word says : "How shall we escape by neglecting such great salvation" (Hebrews 2: 3).

I know what it's like to see the water fountain strangled at the source, drying up all the blessings of my life. This happened to me during my periods of neglect in prayer. During these times, I had moments of calm, but no real fervor in prayer. I let the worries of life rob me of my time with the Lord.

What happened then ? My service changed to self-pity and the ministry seemed to me to be a burden rather than a blessing. Miseries flooded my soul one after the other. I was fighting against a feeling of loneliness and weariness, of disbelief and a disturbing feeling of having accomplished very little in my life harassing me. While I was living with thoughts of leaving the ministry, God's blessings no longer reached me, my relationships deteriorated, and discernment disappeared to the point that I had no renewal in the revelations of Christ.

But I also knew the glory of returning to the presence of the Lord in prayer. As soon as I returned to the secret place, the blessings began to flow again. Joy and peace enveloped me, relations were restored, and the Word of God became alive again.

The scriptures make it clear that the praying servants find blessings and rest on all sides.

"[Uzziah] endeavored to seek God during the life of Zechariah ... and in the days when he sought the LORD, God made him prosper" (2 Chronicles 26: 5).

"We sought him, and he gave us rest from all sides" (2 Chronicles 14: 7).

"All Judah ... sought the LORD willingly, and they found him, and the LORD gave them rest on all sides" (2 Chronicles 15:15).

"When the righteous cry, Jehovah hears, and delivers them out of all their distress ; The LORD is near those who are brokenhearted, and he saves those with their minds in desolation" (Psalms 34: 17-18).
