Do not be rebellious !

"He said to me : Son of man, I send you to the Israelites, to rebellious nations who rebelled against me. They and their ancestors have rebelled against me until today. They are hard-headed and hard-core children. I am sending you to them and you will say to them, This is what the Lord, the Lord says. Whether they listen or they do not listen - indeed, it is a community of rebels - they will know that there is a prophet in their midst. As for you, son of man, do not be afraid of them, do not be afraid of their speeches, even if you have for company brambles and thorns and you live with scorpions. Do not be afraid of their speeches and do not be frightened by them, even if it is a community of rebels. You will tell them my words, whether they listen or they do not listen. Indeed, they are rebels. As for you, son of man, listen to what I am going to say to you ! Do not be rebellious like this community of rebels ! Open your mouth and eat what I'm going to give you !" (Ezek. 2: 3-8)

For over 10 years, I have read and reread this passage many times. But it is only lately that I understood that if I did not announce the Gospel, if I resisted when God asked me to speak, I too became rebellious to God. The Lord showed me that I had sometimes resisted the Holy Spirit. I feared that I had even opposed the Holy Spirit ! We can sadden the Holy Spirit with one or another of these things.

I do not want to be a rebel. I do not want to be rebellious to God ! I want to submit to his sweet voice, his heart, his love, his words. I want to obey and continue to get rid of the old man, crucified that he is (Colossians 3: 9, Ephesians 4:22, Romans 6: 6) !

Lord, help me. Help me to obey and share your Word without fear. I do not want to sadden you. I do not want to harden my heart. I want to obey you and fulfill all your will. I love you Lord.
