Do not block the work of the Holy Spirit

We must learn to work closely with the Holy Spirit, while discerning the spiritual state of the sinner in front of us, and the different stages he can go through. One of the worst mistakes is being afraid to tell the truth by preaching a sharp message. At the moment when we had to say : "Yes, you have to give up that too," we said, "We'll see later" or : "It's not that bad." We must announce the good news of the gospel (for it is wonderful news !), But in its totality.

Another mistake is to want to postpone the sinner's conversion decision. The sinner must be converted to the field immediately. We can not tell him that we are going to pray for God to convince him, as if it is up to God to do something more. Nor can we invite him to reflect on this, but we must announce "now to all men, everywhere, that they have to repent" (Acts 17:30). They must do it now !

The sinner does not need to think, he needs to give up immediately and to convert while it is time. Each second of resistance is an insubordination to God, as would the attitude of a man who would drive 180 km/h on a highway limited to 110 km/h, while he is pursued by several police cars! God pursues the hearts of sinners to submit, for today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6: 2).

If we can bring a soul to surrender its life to God and to renounce all his sins in all conscience, may God be glorified. But do not give a diluted message. Let us not declare that God has projects of peace and not of misfortune, without bringing the other part of the message : repentance and renunciation of dead works. Yes, God has plans for peace and He is "the Savior of all men, but especially of those who trust Him" ​​(1 Timothy 4:10).
