"Now now is the good weather, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6.2
We often tend to postpone what is most important in our lives, so much we can be overwhelmed by the everyday and its to-do list. But these everyday things, in the end, are they still essential ?
Take today the most important decision of your life !
Many people think they have the time, later, to give themselves to God, and some believe that the return of Jesus will take place in the distant future ... Yet as long as we can say "today", there is still time to convert to Jesus Christ.
On May 6, 1932, the President of the Republic Paul Doumer was assassinated while visiting a sale organized by the association of veterans writers. A few hours before, he received at his table a delegation of ministers and advisers. One of them asked him to decorate the Cross of Commander of the Legion of Honor, a great French scientist.
"Right away," replied the President. While you are having coffee, I will write the letter.
- Oh ! It is not all that much in a hurry !
"You never know," said Doumer. I can die tomorrow. Who knows ? Even in an hour !
He wrote the letter, and then they went out. An hour later, he fell under the murderous knife of a young Russian émigré, Paul Gorgulov, who wanted to protest against the recognition of the USSR by France. Paul Doumer had been cautious in not relying on uncertain chance to accomplish the action that was important to him : to write the letter immediately, as soon as the request was made to him.
These facts lead us to think about salvation.
If you only had one hour in front of you, would you like to update the most important business ? Now, the most important of all, is to return to God and be reconciled with him by faith in Jesus for the salvation of everyone who believes.
A prayer for today
Lord Jesus, I realize that the most important decision of my life to take today is to be reconciled with you, for the forgiveness of my sins.
I give you my whole life and let you drive all my choices, to do your will every day. Help me to read your word and persevere in this way. I can not live without you and I pray that you always have the first place in my heart.
