Do not yourself more compare to others

"They take themselves as a measure to measure themselves and compare themselves to others." 2 Corinthians 10.12

Success can be defined by wealth and glory. But from when are we rich enough or fairly famous ? Should we arbitrarily set a limit ? Must we compare ourselves to others ?

God will help you to become yourself, but never another.

If you have decided to devote yourself to the education of your children, or to serve in your church or community, do you distance yourself from what defines success ? No.

To succeed is to give the best of oneself, with one's means, and wherever one is. The Bible warns us : "They take themselves as a measure to measure themselves and compare themselves to others. They are stupid !" (2 Corinthians 10:12).

In the game of comparisons, you are like these two cows who see a milk truck passing on which is written : "Pasteurized, homogenized and enriched with vitamin A !" Then one said to the other : "It looks like we're incompetent !"

God will help you to become yourself, but never another. When you compare yourself to others, you lose sight of what you need to become.

Do you know the 18/40/60 rule ? At 18, you worry about what everyone thinks of you. At 40, you realize that what you think of you does not really matter. At 60, you realize that most people have never thought of you at all !

A reflection for today

Only one question was enough for Paul's existence to change radically : "Lord, what do you want me to do ?" (Acts 9: 6). Only by asking this question will you discover who you are and what God has called you to be.
