Do we have the right insurance ?

(Jesus said) : Indeed, whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses it for my sake will find it. What will it do for a man to gain the whole world, if he loses his soul ? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul ? Matthew 16. 25, 26

Do we have the right insurance ?

We live in an age where we are insured against all possible and imaginable risks : nothing is forgotten, from broken glass to devastating fire... I can even take out insurance so that the cost of my own funeral is not borne by my family. What to live in peace !

Shouldn't we be concerned above all with what will happen after death ? What are the few decades of our life compared to eternity ?

When I have to leave everything, my life insurance may protect my loved ones from financial problems, but I will have to meet my Creator, and the assurances I have taken out for my earthly life will then be of no value. nor effect.

This is not just a "risk" to be hedged, but something that will definitely happen. A risk, by definition, is only a potential danger. But the encounter with God is a certainty, an absolutely unavoidable event. And during this meeting the only question that will arise is this : will I or will not be, burdened with my sins before the holy God, who cannot bear them ?

God loves us so much, that He offers us to settle this question before it is too late. Everyone can lay their sins on Jesus, and accept the fact that he took care of them with God by offering himself as a sacrifice in our place. This "insurance" is then free, He has paid the price !
