Do we understand the "different" ?

I do not know if you managed to talk to these people who are not interested in anyone, since those four days when we talk about it. Have you seen them ? Have you sought to apply the Word of God, or have you forgotten it ?

One day, when a great crowd followed Jesus, two blind men, sitting by the roadside, shouted : "Have mercy on us, Lord, Son of David! The crowd took them back, to silence them ; but they shouted, Have mercy on us, Lord, Son of David ! Jesus stopped, called them, and said : What do you want me to do to you ? They said to him : Lord, let our eyes open. Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes ; and immediately they recovered their sight, and followed him" (Matthew 20:30-34).

Different people need someone to help them open their eyes, to discover the good news of the gospel. The problem is that these "different" will surely never return the favor, and that is why many Christians are not interested in them. They prefer to proclaim the Gospel to the rich and the great of this world. How many times have lepers shouted "Have mercy on us," without us hearing them ?

"If you love those who love you, what reward do you deserve ? Do not publicans act the same? And if you greet only your brothers (or those who are like you), what are you doing extraordinary ? Do not pagans do the same ? Be perfect then, as your heavenly Father is perfect" (Matthew 5:46-47).

We can not seek to touch people who are just like us. The apostles taught to "remember the poor". We should announce the gospel to the underprivileged, to the different people, to those whose world is no good. Then we will be sons of the Most High, we will rejoice the heart of our Father, and we will bear much fruit.
