Do you have a vision for your life ? (2)

“I know the plans that I am planning for you, declares the Lord, plans of peace and not of calamity, in order to give you a future and hope.” Jeremiah 29. 11

Too many people wear themselves out fulfilling a vision God never gave them. So where did their vision come from ? A particularly strong influence in their life, the need to prove something to someone, to match a brother more talented than themselves, to gain the affection of a father or a friend they admired , to be the equal of a preacher or a pastor whose church is always full. Abraham had to learn a similar lesson in suffering. God had promised him a son, but he was impatient because he felt too old and was ready to listen to bad advice. As a result, he begot Ishmael. Be careful : you can pray and beg God as much as you want, you can make as many plans as you want, you will never be able to turn a bad decision into good! Also remember that God will never give you the strength to fulfill a vision He intended for another ! You are unique and His plan for your life is right for you. Christians who imagine the opposite, end up being overcome by bitterness in the face of the setbacks and defeats they continue to suffer. They can't help but compare themselves to others. They do not understand that the role God has asked them to play does not correspond to theirs. Without divine grace, you will only fail ! So carefully identify the origin of your vision ! Even if your vision is from God, don't imagine that you will never experience defeat or the frustration of failure, discouragement, or a feeling of not moving fast enough. The greater the vision, the stronger the enemy's attacks. But if your vision comes from God, you will be able to persevere through difficulties and say that “the Lord will work on my behalf” (Psalm 138.8).
