"When every part of the body does its job, the body grows up." Ephesians 4.16

Paul writes : "When every part of the body does its work, the body grows and builds itself in love."

God wants you to be a member of his church and function perfectly.

There are two kinds of growth : symbiotic and parasitic. Symbiotic growth is a give-and-give relationship that benefits both parties. In the case of parasitic growth, one of the two feeds on the other but gives nothing in return.

When you say when you come out of the church : "This cult has brought me nothing", you may be looking for parasitic growth. It is characterized by words such as "Pray for me, preach me, counsel me, help me, but do not expect anything from me." Symbiotic growth is more like words such as "Yes, I have needs, but I also want to give, because everyone needs to receive back."

Your body is composed of different systems : nervous, circulatory, muscular, lymphatic, skeletal, immune, ... etc. These systems depend on each other. When one of them goes bad, the rest of the body suffers the repercussions. Instead of saying : "I'm going to church," think "I'm the Church". Paul writes : "All the members of the body, despite their number, are one body, - so is it of Christ. [...] In fact, God has placed every member in the body as He wanted." 1 Corinthians 12.12-18

God wants you to be a member of his church and function perfectly.
