Do you like the life you lead ?

"Because you have value in my eyes, because you are honored and I love you, I give men in your place, and peoples for your life." Isaiah 43.4

I love my life ! I am confronted with daily challenges and obstacles, but on the whole I deeply love the existence that I lead. This has not always been the case. I had a difficult childhood. I have been the victim of incessant abuse and my self-esteem has continued to diminish over the years, until it becomes non-existent. I had learned to hate myself, and this hatred I felt I could not love my life.

"Joyce, I love you as you are and I will accept you and hear you with me. I do not want to be against you any more."

As I grew up, I became an unhappy being. I was convinced the grass was greener on the other side of the fence. In vain I tried everything to make my life better, it seemed to me that all my efforts failed. Therefore, I did not like the person I was and I was continually trying to be someone else.

For a very long time, my personality displeased me. And since my personality represents my very being, I was incapable of loving myself. Instead of trying to give the best of myself, I usually chose someone I admired and tried to resemble him.

If you knew how I tried to be nice and sweet ! Finally, I had to learn to face myself in the mirror and say, "Joyce, I love you as you are and I will accept you and hear you with me. I do not want to be against you anymore ." I know this may sound fun, but it was important for me to look in my eyes and tell me these things out loud.

Little by little, with time, God healed my wounds, which allowed me to begin to love myself. He healed my memories and my relationships. It did not happen overnight and required a lot of strength and courage on my part. But not so long ago, when I woke up one morning, my first thought was, "I love my life !" You can not imagine the miracle that it was! Such awakening thought represented a radical change from all those years when I had been unhappy because of my sin and my blindness.

I immediately got to work. I wanted to get rid of all the obstacles that I felt between God and me. This was a difficult decision to make, and I had to repeat it practically every day of the week. But I kept my eyes fixed on my goal ... a better life. Little by little, I felt that I was letting go of all those things that had held me so long. As my suffering subsided, it was like a weight falling from my shoulders. I became the person I always wanted to be. I lived the life I had always desired.

A decision for today

The only obstacle that stands between you and the existence you wish to lead is yourself. You can decide to make your life better. You can love him if you are willing to hand over the direction of operations to God and follow his instructions. It will show you the way to a life you like !
