Do you want to change ?

“All of us who, without a veil on our faces, contemplate as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, we are transformed into his image, from glory to glory, by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18

Have you ever heard the story of the frog that fell into a hole it couldn't get out of ? Several of her friends came to see her to encourage her to jump out of her prison, but to no avail. “Since you seem to be here for a long time, we'll see if we can find some food somewhere.” They had just left their friend in her hole when they heard her jump behind them. “We thought you couldn't get out of this,” they cried. "It is true," replied the frog, "but suddenly I heard the sound of the tires of a big truck approaching and I discovered then that I could, after all, jump out of my hole." It’s when we’re back on the wall that we see the value of change ! Indeed, we feel more comfortable with old problems to which we have become accustomed than with new and unknown solutions. Those who believe that nothing new can be accomplished are unable to imagine the slightest invention and witness the slightest change. We accept change more easily :

1- if our suffering increases so much that we have no other alternative.

2- if we realize that our way of acting no longer produces any results.

3- if we understand that by the grace of God we are capable of change. The best encouragement for our faith is to accept that nothing forces us to stay put and continue to vegetate as we do now. Meditate on the following verses : “And now, brethren, I entrust you to God and to the message of his grace, who has power to build up and to give you an inheritance with all the saints” (Acts 20. 32). “All of us who, without a veil on our faces, contemplate the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, we are transformed into his image, from glory to glory, by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18). But the question remains : do you really want to change ?
