God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son so that whoever believes in him would not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3.16
Does God care about us ?
Without denying the existence of God, some believe that God does not care about humans. This was the case with a young student with whom I was traveling.
- Scientists recognize that there must be a God, he told me, but there is no evidence that he is interested in human life.
- God is powerful if he brought the whole universe into existence, and then, what intelligence !
- Of course, it is clearly visible in nature.
- God made us in his likeness and gave each human being to understand, at least in part, his wisdom. But isn't there something else that motivates and guides each of us ?
- Love ? he suggests after a few moments of hesitation.
- So, this God so powerful and intelligent, who communicated these capacities to men, and also gave them a nature capable of loving, can you imagine that he does not have an immense love for humanity than he created and shaped himself ? He seems to admit it and asks :
- How to find out his love ?
I open my Bible and make him read the above verse : "God so loved the world..."
- It requires reflection, it interests me...
He accepts a Gospel and immerses himself in its reading. For me, I pray inwardly that God will bring him to faith.
