Don't forget your heavenly parachute !

God has united you to Jesus Christ... 1 Corinthians 1.30

Imagine... You are in a small private plane and there is big turbulence. The pilot orders you to put on your parachute as a matter of urgency, as at any time you may be called upon to jump from the plane. The worst then happens... The plane catches fire, you jump out of the plane, the parachute opens, and you land on dry land. Some people who did not take the pilot's message seriously, did not don their parachutes in time... and they perish.

“God has united you to Jesus Christ...” (1 Corinthians 1:30). The original Greek word for "united" means "in, within". When you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, you become united with his person, like a person tied to his parachute.

"Being in Christ or united with Christ is essential, for God sees you through him."

Being in Christ or united with Christ is essential, because God sees you through him. Trust in the Lord Jesus, just as you would place your trust in a parachute when jumping into the void. Even if you don't feel it, believe with faith that "God has united you to Jesus Christ."

To be united with Christ means to share all that he has done and all that he is. It means that you are in a new "position" in the sight of God. Because you are united with His Son, God gives you life and eternal life.

A prayer for today

Father, thank you for union with Jesus ! Help me to maintain this union with my husband on a daily basis : through prayer, reading the Bible and refreshing the Holy Spirit !
