Don't say God is silent !

“However, God speaks, sometimes in one way, sometimes in another, and it is not noticed.” Job 33. 14

God is always ready to speak to us, one way or another. We only need to listen to Him by adjusting our hearing and heart to be receptive to His voice. Have you ever thought about the fact that He left over 750,000 words for us and all you have to do is open our Bibles to find them ? A.W Tozer wrote : “The Bible is not just a book that has spoken to countless generations, but a book that continues to speak to ours.” God speaks to us continually through the pages of His book. When we let our Bibles collect dust on a shelf, we are actually putting a gag over God's mouth. How then to dare to say that God is silent ? Do not complain about not receiving messages or SMS on our mobile, if we have turned it off so as not to be disturbed ! DL Moody once said : “A man came to me at the end of a series of meetings I had given, to tell me that he hoped that this teaching would be enough to guide him for the rest of his life. I replied : "You might as well have enough of your breakfast tomorrow morning to satisfy you for the rest of your life !" Here is the most common mistake believers make when going to Christian meetings : They think that these past moments will be enough for them to know God better. But if what they learned during these meetings does not give them the desire to deepen the Word of God, the impression they felt upon leaving these meetings will vanish in less than three months !" David understood this perfectly : “Happy is the man who does not follow the counsel of the wicked, who does not stop in the way of sinners and sit down with mockers, but who finds pleasure in the way of sinners. law of the Lord, and meditate on it day and night ! It looks like a tree planted near a stream ; it gives its fruit in its season, and its foliage does not wither. Everything he does is successful” (Psalm 1, 1-3). We all need to hear God speak to us through His word. Are we ready to open our Bibles every day and patiently wait for Him to speak to us ?
