Doubt is not a sin ! (1)

“Thomas was not with them when Jesus came.” John 20. 24

How to overcome your doubts ? As Thomas did, accepting them honestly and bringing them to Jesus feet. Too many Christians believe they have understood the deep message of Christianity and have locked it in a big box with these words written : “Don't ask questions, don't raise problems !” And when you feel like mourning the loss of a loved one, are you going to ask someone's permission ? Don't you feel free to admit : “I'm really not sure about that !” Is it okay to doubt ? Absolutely ! And even, it is necessary to doubt ! If you never doubt, it's probably because you've stopped growing and developing ! It's because you've absorbed someone else's answers too much and in most cases those answers are next to your questions, unless you've lost the habit of asking questions ! Are you honest enough to admit your doubts, or are you still afraid of the influence of some well-meaning Christian who is convinced that any question is an insult to Christ ? You must listen again to the sweet words of Him who knows your least doubts and fears better than yourself ! He says to you : “Peace be with you ! Look at My hands and My feet. Look with the eyes of faith and believe ! My blessing will be with you when you believe despite your doubts.” Why not pray : “Lord, I look like Thomas when he doubted, I too struggle with doubts. I have not yet put my life in order and I know that I will not be able to until I get closer to You. Thank you for accepting me despite my struggles and not ignoring my questions. Thomas finally reached that point in his life where he was able to exclaim : My Lord and my God ! Thank you for all Your patience with me, thank you for helping me reach the same threshold in my life.”
