The spectacle of nature and its astonishing peculiarities testifies very often to the greatness of God.

The source of grace is never dried up !

On the island of Trinidad is a place called "Pitch Lake", one of the wonders of the world. It is an extinct volcano whose crater measures about half a kilometer. The whole area of ​​the crater is filled with hard asphalt on which one can walk to the center of the well, where teams of workers work tirelessly to extract the asphalt. They constantly fill wagons with these big black blocks, weighing 50 to 100 kg each, then sent to refineries often built at the edge of the crater.

However, despite the asphalt extractions several meters deep, the hole produced is filled after seventy-two hours, any trace of excavation having disappeared !

While "Pitch" allows the shipment of many asphalt cargo ships in all parts of the world, it still contains as much asphalt. To date, although thousands of boats have been filled, the supply has never decreased ...

By contemplating this marvel of God's creation, does it not lead us to meditate on that other inexhaustible source of divine grace ? He who calls himself "the God of all grace" has an inexhaustible supply of it. It is his free gift to humanity, with this promise "He who believes in me, rivers of living water will flow from his bosom." John 7:38

All over the world, his children can enjoy this grace in abundance, as much as they are able to appropriate it, and yet the source is never dried up.

A commitment for today

Lord, reveal to me the greatness of your grace, which is an inexhaustible source. Put in my heart the desire to send the good news of salvation to all men, you who do not make any distinction of race and who wanted to die so that all may be saved.
