"Dress code"

Do not lie to one another, for you have stripped yourselves of the old man and his ways of acting, you have put on the new man who is renewing himself to come to true knowledge, in accordance with the image of him who lacks it created. Colossians 3.9-10

For his wedding, one of my nephews wished that the relatives were dressed in gray and pink. Her younger sister, meanwhile, will choose green and brown as the dress code for hers. In this way, it was easy to recognize the guests at the wedding feast, among all the participants present at the ceremony.

It is the same in the parable told by Jesus. Among the guests at the wedding feast, one participant did not respect the "dress code" ; the king immediately spotted him in the midst of this crowd filling the wedding hall. The man had entered without donning the garment offered at the entrance to the marriage hall - as was the custom of the time.

Figuratively, Jesus explains that I cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven without having put on an appropriate garment : the garment of salvation. And it is Jesus who offers it to me. He wants to dress me new and get rid of my dirty clothes. He paid the price for it at the cost of his own blood.

Will I accept the divine "dress code" to be in the wedding party and party with all the guests ? Will I take the risk of being kicked out for refusing ? It's up to everyone to think about it and decide for themselves.
