During I myself sens null...

"Ah ! Lord, said Moses, I do not have an easy word, it is not dated yesterday or the day before yesterday, and it has not improved since you began to speak to your servant. I have embarrassed mouth and tongue [...] No, Lord ! please send ! someone else." Exodus 4.10-13

Moses clearly suffered from a lack of self-confidence and a problem of inferiority. He did not feel up to the call of God. While he was chosen to speak to the captive Hebrew people in Egypt, he retorted : "I have embarrassed mouth and tongue." The Lord humbly pointed out to him that he was the creator of the mouth.

"It is not on your strengths that you must rely, but on those of God, infallible."

When the Lord invites you to rise for his service, what excuse do you make ? Do you chase, like Moses, pretexts on pretexts : "Who am I ? I do not possess the qualities required... And if people refuse to listen to me or make fun of me ? I have never been a good speaker, I lose all countenance before an audience... Others are much more competent than me !" Etc.

Faced with your justifications, the Lord encourages you by declaring to you : "It is I who calls you and it is I who will perform the miracle Beyond your smallness, look at my greatness ! Beyond your weakness Look at the power of my name ! Do not fear the reaction of men because I walk by your side. Do not be worried and do not doubt your abilities because it is me who qualifies and it is still me who distributes the gifts and talents, just place your trust in me because I will not abandon you, I will not forsake you."

Yes, there will be difficult times : you will meet alternately bellicose pharaohs, a sea of obstacles, opponents to destabilize you, etc. but there will also be times of miracles, brilliant victories and a promised land ! It's not your stature that's important, but it's God's immeasurable. It is not on your strengths that you must rely, but on those of God, infallible.

The look you have on you is hardly indulgent and dwells on the imperfections. Contemplate rather the masterpiece that is born in the hands of the Master !

A prayer for today

Lord, despite all my imperfections, I trust you. My life is in your hands, amen.
