Entrust your works to the Eternal

Searching the Scriptures

Commit your works to the Eternal, and your plans will be fulfilled. Proverb 16.3

Do you want to know if your plans will come true, if what you are going to implement will go as planned and organized ? There is a way to find out. It is commending your works, everything you do, everything you are responsible for, to the Lord.

Turn to the Lord in prayer, tell him : I have this work to do, I have this responsibility, it is something that requires my full attention. I am not sure how to do it. I'm not quite sure how this will end, but Lord, I recommend it to you. I place it in your hands ; I ask you to take care of it. I don't rely on myself. I don't trust my simple judgment. I will do my best Lord, but I know my best will not be enough, so I commend my actions, responsibilities and activities to you.

In the original Hebrew, the word for "recommend" is "to roll". You see, your works, your responsibilities are like a heavy burden weighing on your back and which you do not know how to get rid of. You know, the best way to get rid of a burden is to roll it off your back and take it off yourself. This is what this word means. Roll that responsibility off your back. Unload yourselves at the feet of the Lord and ask Him to do so.

He said he would take care of it, that if you recommended your works to him, your plans would come true. You don't have to ponder over the pros and cons all the time, asking yourself if this is going to work. Just commend your works to the Lord.

Listen the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God means. Recognize God in all your ways and He will make your paths straight.

Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, I entrust to you all my outstanding debts at the moment. You will know how to manage them much better than myself. I have full confidence in you."

Praise God

To praise God is to show him our gratitude. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our route for the day comes to an end. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Thank you Lord for I can lean on you and lay my burdens at your feet. Yours be the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
