Evangelize through my life
Perform the work of an evangelist. 2 Timothy 4: 5
Evangelism is a mission given to all of the Lord's disciples. But how to evangelize ? There are a lot of possibilities. For example :
• Invite an evangelist, who will proclaim the gospel thanks to the gift that God has entrusted to him. My role is then to bring people together through personal contacts.
• Bring a simple yet lived message that God will use to touch the hearts and minds of listeners.
• Present the Word in Bible stands.
But beyond a particular occasion, there is my way of being, my daily behavior with my neighbors and my co-workers. It is evangelism through my life, summed up in these three words : plow, sow, harvest.
1. Plow : this is the most important and longest phase. The Word compares human hearts to different terrains. In order to be able to overcome the gap that exists between the Christian and the unbeliever, to build a bridge of friendship beyond the differences, what matters is to be interested in the other, to listen to him, to seek to understand it, to love it. A climate of mutual trust is created over the days. During this time, God prepares the heart.
2. Sow : my life shows what the gospel has produced in me. I can testify to my hope and my joy in knowing the Lord Jesus, I can speak of him. Getting to know the person I'm talking to better will help me adapt the message and the way I communicate it, answer their questions.
3. Harvest : it is to bring a person to make a decision for the Lord, to accompany the believer in his spiritual journey and to help him to grow.
Let us live ever closer to the Lord in order to love those who perish better and to lead them to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. God wants to help us to be successful.
He who abides in me and in whom I abide bears much fruit, for without me you can do nothing (John 15:5).
