Every believer has a supply of the Spirit

The body is a whole, yet has several organs, and all the organs in the body, despite their large number, form one body. It is the same with Christ. Indeed, whether we are Jews or Greeks, slaves or free, we have all been baptized in one Spirit to form one body and we have all drunk from one Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12.12-13

Some believe that some Christians have special abilities of the Spirit, while others do not. This is simply unbiblical and false.

In 1 Corinthians, Paul addresses a subject of increasing concern in the churches of his day. Some believed that Jewish believers had greater access to the Holy Spirit than Gentiles. In addition, some Greek churches considered that free men received a more generous portion of the Spirit than those who were still slaves.

Paul made it clear that this was not true. Notice the word "one" in our text today. Paul uses this word five times in these two short verses to emphasize the understanding and importance of our unity as a body of believers.

"God is not looking for 'super Christians' or a 'spiritual elite'."

Every believer has a supply of the Spirit they can use to bring deliverance and change in the world around us.

God is not looking for "super Christians" or a "spiritual elite" to bring deliverance to those who are held captive by sin and death. It enables all who have accepted Jesus to participate in the ministry of the Spirit.

Have you ever considered yourself less important than other members of the body of Christ ? Remember that you are a member of the body of Christ and tell the Holy Spirit that you are ready to be used in a powerful way to bring deliverance to others !
