Everything was paid !

"Return your lot to the LORD, and he will sustain you, and he will never let the righteous stagger." Psalm 55.23

A young man was about to graduate as a surgeon. For several months, he had admired a beautiful sports car. Knowing that his father could easily offer it, he told him of the choice of this gift for his diploma. As the graduation day approached, the young man expected to see something showing him that his father had bought him this car.

Finally, on D-morning, his father called him to his office and told him how proud he was, but also how much he loved him. And the father handed him a box in a beautiful gift wrapping. Curious, the young man opened it and discovered a Bible. Furious, he raised his voice and said to his father : "With all your money, you only offer me a Bible ?" Clapping the door, he left the house, leaving behind the Bible.

Several years passed, and the young man experienced many difficulties. He opened a clinic that quickly went bankrupt. Discouraged, he said to himself : "If I had followed the advice of my father, I would never have put myself in such a situation ..." All his possessions were auctioned off and he still had an enormous debt to repay Sa The woman left him and he became a miserable tramp.

One day he received a telegram telling him that his father had just died, that he had given him all his possessions, and that he was to come and take care of the inheritance. When he arrived at his father's house, looking into the important records of the father's house, he found the Bible at the place where he had left it several years before ... He burst into tears, opened it and Began to turn the pages. And as he read, a car key fell from an envelope that was stuck to the back of the bible. The key had a label on which was written the name of the dealer where he had seen the beautiful sports car he had so desired. There was also the date of the graduation and the words : "Everything was paid".

A thought for today

God is not such as we represent Him, but He is such as He presented Himself to us, as He would present Himself to you. He paid everything on the cross.
