Evolve without cease

"When you come, bring the cloak that I left to Troas at Carpus, and the books ..." 2 Timothy 4:13

It is interesting to see that a child is always eager to learn. The famous why, of which he never ceases to drink, all day long, is the most illustrative illustration of it. Then the child becomes a young adult and there he knows ... He no longer needs to learn. In any case, he believes it !

The great Paul is not afraid of being confronted spiritually and intellectually in order to change, to evolve.

The major difference between an adult and a child is that the child is thirsty for growth, evolution and change, while the adult believes that he / she knows everything and refuses to do so.

Unfortunately, there are young-old people ... But fortunately there are also elderly people who have remained young in their way of approaching life. They are easily recognizable; Despite their crumpled skin, their souls remained fresh.

In his final epistle, Paul, despite his old age and his imprisonment, has the desire to evolve. In addition to his coat to warm himself, Paul asks for books. In other words, he wants to grow in knowledge. The apostle has already written a good part of the New Testament; he has shown that he knows a ray of doctrine, and yet, to the end, he perseveres in learning. The great Paul is not afraid of being confronted spiritually and intellectually in order to change, to evolve.

The Ministry of Health has published an interesting statistic : many people, when they retire, see their health get worse, become tainted. This is because, as soon as they leave the active world, not only does their activity cease but they are no longer forced to adapt to the evolution of their company. They have no more effort to provide, they are frozen in their habits and it is the decline. But in order to move forward, it is important not to freeze but, on the contrary, to continue to move and evolve.

A prayer for today

Lord, give me the grace to remain cool in spite of the years that pass. I do not want to stop, but I want to grow and continue to evolve. Amen.
