Experience the forgiveness that frees

"Do not give access to the devil." Ephesians 4.27

I happened to watch my little children play with a car called "remote control". They press a button, the vehicle advances, they press another button the vehicle moves back. The car goes to the right or left to the sandstone of their whims. They even take a real pleasure to send the toy car, on Papi's feet !

Sin opens the door but divine forgiveness closes it.

So, unbeknownst to me, I amused to disconnect the mechanism of remote control and they are well incapable to advance or retreat the car. All their zeal to press the buttons changes nothing, they no longer have access to the internal mechanism, the link of subordination is broken and the car is no longer subjected to their whims.

The apostle Paul invites us not to give access to the devil. What is the door that gives access to the devil. The door that gives it access is sin. Some might imagine that the apostle is asking us never to sin in order not to give access to the devil. Now we know that we sin. The only way to close this door to the devil when we sin is to repent and receive forgiveness from God.

Sin opens the door but divine forgiveness closes it. When we sin, in one way or another, the only way to escape guilt and thereby the action of the enemy is to receive divine forgiveness. Without divine forgiveness, we allow the devil to have access in our lives.

For Jesus, it was clear, the devil had no access to his life. The devil found no way to manipulate Jesus, for our Lord was free from all sin, from all rancor, from all lies. This is what he says : "The prince of the world is coming, he has nothing in me." John 14.30

An action for this day

Do you want to escape the slightest grip of the devil on your life ? Disconnect the means by which he may have taken, confessing your sins and receiving forgiveness liberator. Confess your sins to God, and all the connections of the enemy will be broken. You will be among those who can say with the apostle John : "Your sins are forgiven you because of his name ... you have conquered the evil one." 1 John 2.12 / 14
