Fear

Fear

When the first man, Adam, disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, he was afraid (Genesis 3:10). Since then, fears, fears, anxieties assail men's thoughts. Many ills remain unresolved : illness, the suffering that results from it, old age and age-related infirmities, current scourges, the uncertain future, so many obscure perspectives that are beyond us... And then there are has the fear of death, “the king of terrors” (Job 18. 14).

Why so many subjects of fear ? Materialism, confidence in progress and techniques, faith in man and in all his theories have driven faith in God from our minds. The absence of a living relationship with our Creator leaves a great void in the heart and generates all these fears. We must therefore return to the origin of this lack.

Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth to bring lost man back to his Creator. For this Jesus took on himself all the consequences of our disobedience and bore the penalty on the cross. Those who believe it find a new relationship with God, and through Jesus eternal life. Risen, Jesus Christ conquered death. The believer can call God his Father. He loved us to the point of giving his only begotten Son (John 3:16). Through Jesus we can talk to him, listen to him while reading the Bible. He will then drive away our fears and make us live in his peace “which passes understanding” (Philippians 4:7). He will give us “eternal comfort and good hope by grace” (2 Thessalonians 2:16).
