Filled with Christ

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself to have already taken hold of it, but I do one thing : forgetting what is behind and carrying me towards what is in front. Philippians 3:13

As we move the calendar to a new year, we come face to face with the fact that our days on earth are numbered. As the psalmist wrote : "Teach us to count our days well, so that our hearts may come to wisdom !" No thoughtful person can approach the day of the New Year without some introspection. We are reminded of the shortness of time. We also look back at our failures, mistakes and missed opportunities, and we are committed to making better use of our time in the coming year. We must take the time to be pleasant, to smile, to extend the little courtesies that we often omit - to show love to our family. Psychiatrists tell us that most people starve to death. Take time for the farewell kiss ; we will go to work with a softer mind. Let's take the time to get to know our families. We are not machines. We are not Robots. The secret to a happy home is that family members learn to give and receive love. Let’s take the time to express our love in a thousand ways.

Prayer for the day

As I begin a new year, Lord Jesus, I pray that my walk in the days to come will be filled with Your love for others, a love that does not count the price.
