Final banquet

Blessed are those who are called to the wedding feast of the Lamb ! Revelation 19.9

Culinary enthusiasts, connoisseurs of the "Carnets of Julie", you know that they end with a banquet bringing together all kinds of people: renowned or ordinary people, small producers or local artisans from the places visited, having presented their precious ancestral recipes over of the show. And you, familiar with Asterix and Obelix comics, you have noticed that all their adventures end around a banquet. As for you, readers of the Bible, have you noticed that it also ends with a great banquet ? The wedding feast of Jesus Christ surrounded by his chosen ones !

Who will have the pleasure of participating in this great meal ? Well, those whom Jesus visits and meets... in the past, present or in the future. Some famous, like Abraham, Moses or Elijah, but also other ordinary people, like you and me... and others. In fact, for the occasion, all those who have responded to his invitation will be gathered ; it is launched through the Scriptures, or over time by his envoys, as Jesus explains (See the suggested reading). Are you going to miss this opportunity, like some characters in his story ? Will you be among the famous or ordinary people encountered by Jesus, among the crowd of his many participants, mentioned in the book of Revelation (Revelation 19:6-8) ?

Proposed reading : Gospel according to Luke, chapter 14, verses 15 to 24

14:15 One of those who were at table, after hearing these words, said to Jesus : Blessed is he who eats his meal in the kingdom of God !

14.16 And Jesus answered him : A man had a great feast, and invited many people.

14.17 At the time of the feast he sent his servant to say to the guests : Come, for everything is ready.

14.18 But all without exception began to apologize. The first said to him : I bought a field, and I have to go see him, excuse me, please.

14.19 Another said : I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to try them, excuse me please.

14.20 Another said : I have just married, and that is why I do not come.

14.21 The servant returned and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house in anger said to his servant : Go quickly into the squares and into the streets of the city, and bring hither the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.

14.22 The servant said : Master, what you commanded has been done, and there is still room.

14.23 The master said to the servant : Go into the roads and along the hedgerows, and bring in those whom you find, that my house may be filled.

14.24 For I say unto you, none of these men that were invited shall taste of my feast.
