Find a meaning to your life

"I was born and I came into the world to bear witness to the truth." John 18.37

Jesus knew why he was born. While Pilate asks him : "Are you king ?" Jesus, in his answer, gives a crucial indication of success. He suggests that there can be no successful life without knowing the meaning of our lives. As long as we remain unanswered to the fundamental questions of our existence : Who am I ? Why am I on earth ? Where am I going ? We live with a deep sense of emptiness. Jesus wants to help us find meaning in our lives.

In his answer, Jesus tells us what are the elements of a successful life: He knew who he was, why he was born, and he knew what he was to accomplish. He knew he was not there by chance, he knew that he was born by the will of God, to accomplish a magnificent project, that of saving mankind.

God wants to help you to become aware of this central truth : "I know that I am not on earth by chance, I exist for a purpose, my life has a meaning".

As you go through a deep crisis, you may have come to regret the day you were born ? This is what happened to Job, and he exclaimed : "Why did not I die in my mother's womb ? Why did not I die out of her womb ?" (Job 3.11).

Staying continually in this position will only lead you to the depreciation of yourself, and will push you ever deeper into a feeling of failure.

Job raised his head when he exclaimed with faith : "I know that my redeemer is alive" (Job 19:25). He was no longer centered on his drama, but on the greatness of God.

God wants to help you to become aware of this central truth : "I know that I am not on earth by chance, I exist for a purpose, my life has a meaning".

To succeed in life, we must at some point be convinced by the Holy Spirit that we are not born by accident but that God wanted our birth, that he wanted us as we are, for one project.

If you want to be someone else, it blocks your fulfillment. The psalmist having discovered that he was a creature wanted by God, cried out : "You have formed my loins, which have woven me into my mother's womb. I praise you that I am one a creature so marvelous, when I was but a shapeless mass, your eyes saw me, and on your book were inscribed the days which were destined for me ..."(Psalm 139: 13-16).

An advice for this day

Confess that you exist because God has willed it, accept what you are, who you are, trust in the one who will reveal the meaning of your life to you.
