Find true joy

The Lord is my strength and the subject of my praise. He saved me. You will gladly draw water from the fountains of salvation. Isaiah 12:2-3

It was with great joy that the prophet Isaiah announced the day when men could say that God has saved them ! Psalm 118 also speaks of a day that will be one of rejoicing and joy. Now, this is a strongly prophetic psalm with several images on Jesus Christ.

The grace of God is marked by joy !

This is what the angel said to the shepherds at the birth of Jesus : I bring you good news which will be a source of joy for all the people (Luke 2.10). This is the sentiment that touches those who accept the Lord as Savior. The Bible mentions many cases of conversion to Jesus Christ marked by joy. This is still the case today : by turning to God, one receives joy and peace of soul. When we turn our eyes to him, we are radiant with joy (Psalm 34.6).

This day that the Lord has made relates to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and his resurrection. It brings the certainty of forgiveness, and the hope of eternal life, to all who look to God for salvation.

The resurrection of Christ proves the defeat of the devil and death. What joy are all those who place their faith in him !

Our souls need the thirst-quenching water of salvation: do not deprive yourself of drawing it with joy.
