We all want to be able to walk completely free from things that once tormented us, whether it's a particular sin or an emotional baggage. Deep treason or a series of disappointments can build a wall and lock us in a prison that paralyzes our walk with God.
How to be released and stay free ? Is there a way to find a glorious, sustained and powerful victory in Jesus Christ ?
Some turn to counselors with the hope of being free, but it takes ten to fifteen years to reach through counsel the result that Jesus can achieve in an instant. And when He works in us, He does a work that lasts in time. He frees us and enables us to continue walking in this freedom.
When God called Nehemiah to go to Jerusalem to rebuild the walls, everyone seemed to think that it would take a lot of time. His people were mostly slaves and servants and did not have many resources. But they had a passion for the things of God and they went to work with determination. Despite Satan's various attempts to prevent their work, they did not allow themselves to be distracted from God's plan and were able to rebuild the walls of the city in just fifty-two days.
Those walls that had been felled were restored because Nehemiah kept his eyes on the Lord and stood firm against the powers of hell. In the same way, I encourage you to fix your eyes on Jesus and to let Him build you. Take this decision in your heart : "It's not about me, it's about Jesus. My goals, my plans, my ambitions are under His benevolent control. Thanks to Him and His great sacrifice, He will establish my steps and I will walk in freedom."
"But in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us" (Romans 8:37).
