Flee from mediocrity !

“So, because you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I am going to vomit you out of My mouth.” Revelation 3.16

Nowadays, if you ask a decorator to guide you in choosing colors to repaint the walls of rooms in your home to bring it up to date, chances are good that they advise you to prefer colors. neutral, such as beige or light gray rather than strong colors. Beige is a “defensive” color, which will not harm the eyes of your visitors, or if you want to sell your home, potential buyers. However, this attitude goes against divine choices ! Jesus declares : “because you are lukewarm, neither lukewarm nor boiling, I will vomit you out of My mouth !” People who were successful in life all had offensive traits. They didn't wait for success to fall into their hands. They preferred to take the initiative and venture down paths with little traffic. Don't listen to people who glorify balance in all circumstances. This is often an excuse for doing nothing. On the contrary, the desire to move forward, coupled with perseverance will allow you to live a rich and fruitful life, provided you never give up ! C.H. Spurgeon once said : "By sheer perseverance the snail got into the ark !" The word lukewarm should not be associated with the word Christian, because to be a Christian means to follow Christ, to obey Him, to walk in His footsteps, to imitate His behavior. No martyr among Jesus' disciples would have considered remaining on the defensive without announcing the Good News to the people he met. A "lukewarm" faith has no impact on the conduct of the Christian who possesses it. Faith without action is a dead letter (James 2. 17-18). Paul explains : “Whatever you do, word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father” (Colossians 3: 17-18). God does not ask you to be a world famous expert in one field or another, but He is glorified if you pursue excellence in all your actions. Remember the words of Francis Chan : “Lukewarm Christians do not really seek to be delivered from their sins. They just want to be delivered from the consequences of their sins !”
