Foolish but not stupid !

Isaiah 41.9 – ... You are my servant, I choose you and do not reject you.

A text by Pastor Fabien Weigel touched us ; he explained that actions do not define who we are. In our daily life, my wife gave a good illustration of this. She was cooking with Lili when she spilled some of the preparation for the “French toast” exclaiming : “How stupid I am !". Her mom kindly took her back, saying : “You are doing stupid things but you are not stupid !".

How often do we reduce our identity to what we do, whether good or bad ? How often do we judge a person by their actions. It is up to us to be able to judge an act, to define it as good or bad, but Jesus Himself commands us not to judge the person. When we talk to our children, do we forge their identity with : “You are stupid, you are useless, you are good for nothing ?".

Our God will never tell us such things. He may have a rebuke full of authority but also full of love on our acts but as for our identity, He will always say : "You are my servant, I will never forsake you, never will I forsake you" (Hebrews 13.5). If God gives us this identity, let's stop mistreating ourselves by saying : "I am a failure, a poor sinner, a...".

Good thinking and good day.
