For the conquest of another future

Our Western societies are more favorable than many others, even if poverty, it is true, is not absent, and is even increasing. Yet dissatisfaction is still present, the demands do not cease, and this even among the most privileged populations. This reveals a real pain in life. "Together for the conquest of another future" was recently the slogan of one of the many demonstrations. What other future do we want ? More wealth ? More leisure ? More freedom ? Live on this earth more comfortably ? One day we will have to leave everything, what will be our future ? Nothing is proposed on that side ; have we thought about it ourselves ? Many live for the present moment, without thinking of eternity.

Indeed, after our death, all is not finished. The man who disobeyed God was condemned to die (Genesis 2:17). His body will return to dust and his spirit will return to God. How will he meet God ? Like a judge, if he has not reconciled with him ; as a Father, if he believed in Jesus Christ. This will decide his eternal future. God wants our happiness. He tells us : "I know the plans that I am forming for you, declares the Lord, plans for peace and not for misfortune, in order to give you a future and hope" (Jeremiah 29:11).

Do we want this happiness with Jesus ?
