For you and for me
Christ died once for sins, he righteous for the unrighteous, in order to bring you to God. Put to death according to the flesh, he was made alive according to the Spirit. 1 Peter 3:18
Despised and abandoned by men, a man of sorrows and accustomed to suffering, like the one before whom we veil our faces, he was despised, we did not consider him.
However, it is our sufferings that He has borne, it is our pains that He has taken charge ; and we saw him as afflicted with a plague, as stricken by God and humbled.
But he was transfixed because of our crimes, crushed because of our faults ; the punishment that gives us peace fell on him, and by his stripes we are healed.
We were all wandering like sheep, each one followed his own way ; and the Lord has laid the guilt of all of us on him.
He was mistreated, he humbled himself and he did not open his mouth, like a lamb that is led to the butcher's shop, a mute sheep before those who shear it ; he didn't open his mouth.
He was carried away by violence and judgment ; in his generation who cared that he was cut off from the land of the living because of the crimes of my people ?
We put his grave among the wicked, his sepulcher with the rich...
It pleased the Lord to break it with suffering...
... My righteous servant will justify many men and deal with their faults.
