From the mountain to the valley !

Exodus 24:15 – Moses went up the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.

Do you know the expression “going up the mountain” ? It expresses the idea of ​​taking time apart and meeting God to better consecrate oneself. These moments are necessary in our life to grow in intimacy with the Lord ; many times it is on the mountain that we receive the vision or the call.

Of course, coming down from the mountain is difficult, we would like these moments to last forever and yet we have to come back to earth. You know, it is today that we will see the depth of our encounter with God! Maybe last weekend in worship we were floating in the cloud of the presence of the Holy Spirit living heart to heart with the Father... thank you Lord for these moments. Yet God sends us back to the valley to bring the light of his Word there. It is in the valley that we will see the impact of our encounter with God, it is in routine experiences that the depth of our intimacy with Him is revealed.

On the mountain we are all “transfigured”, but who still bears the mark of glory in the valley ? He who is devoted body and soul to his God ; who does not live on the nostalgia of what he lived on the mountain but who crosses the valley joyfully because he knows that it is there that the Lord sends him to be his light.
