Genuine love

I fight so that, united in love, they be encouraged in their hearts and be enriched with a full understanding to know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ. Colossians 2: 2

Thousands of young couples are living a loveless marriage because no one has ever told them what genuine love is. I believe we must read chapter 13 of 1 Corinthians, in which the apostle Paul gives us a definition of love. He says : "Love is patient, it is full of kindness ; love is not envious ; love does not boast, it does not sweat with pride, it does not do anything dishonest, he does not seek his interest, he does not irritate himself, he does not suspect evil, he does not rejoice at the truth ; he forgives everything, he believes everything, he hopes everything, he bears everything." If people today knew this kind of love, the divorce rate would be greatly reduced.

Prayer for the day

Lord Jesus, we need your love and forgiveness in our hearts if we want to love without selfishness.
