Get back to basics of faith

Search the Scriptures

Behold, his soul is lifted up, it is not upright in him ; but the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2.4

Faith is a concept that we talk about a lot, but tend to over-complicate.

Faith simply means "absolute belief or trust in something or someone" ; this term also encompasses the notion of loyalty and commitment.

Faith is not a large and complex concept that should take a lot of energy and thought from us. Sincere faith in God simply recognizes that the message of Jesus' death and resurrection is entirely true ; this is when we are able to say : "Not only does this make sense to me, but I am also ready to stake my life on this truth."

The Bible says the just will live, uncompromisingly, by faith and faithfulness. These are those who are made righteous by the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. We are justified by faith, and God treats us as his own beloved children.

Today, I encourage you to return to the basics of faith. Know that when you put your faith in Him, you are made righteous. Live by placing your trust in God, who welcomes you in his love, with open arms, ready to receive you and to love you as you are.

Listen the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God wants to say. Do you need to get back to basics of faith ?

Praying is simple. Speak to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is a sample prayer : "Lord, I am so grateful that I can place my faith in you and that I can become 'righteous, without compromise'. Today I live by faith in you."

Praise God

To praise God is to express our gratitude to him. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a time to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now, deepen what you have received. What can you put in place to apply what God has told you ? Write down concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our journey for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Thank you God that we are justified by faith and you treat us as your own beloved children. Yours is the reign and the power and the glory, amen !"
