Get up ! Take possession of the country !

I stayed on the mountain as before, 40 days and 40 nights. The Lord has heard me again this time : he will not destroy you. The LORD said unto me : Arise, go and walk at the head of the people. Let them go and take possession of the country that I swore to their ancestors to give them. Deuteronomy 10.10-11

After spending forty years in the wilderness, Israel finally heard the good news! God had announced that they should no longer wander. He told Moses that they were to arise and take possession of the land.

Although this is a real country, it also symbolizes God's promises to each of us. He represents the fulfillment of all potentials of all the blessings He has prepared for us. This means that we enter a position where it is possible for us to know his wisdom, his favor, his power and his victory.

Sometimes we have to go through times of training, purification, and preparation (just like the Children of Israel during their wandering years) but, as was the case with the Children of Israel, there comes a time when we must take action to "own the land" and come into full possession of the promises of God.

Too many Christians are missing out on the promised land and their full inheritance. Some are overcome with doubt and worry. Some people fail to believe that God has prepared abundant blessings for them. Others are just too comfortable with their life in the world.

Today, God wants to remind you that the land of His promises is right at your fingertips. He has prepared an inheritance for you personally. Don't just sit back and let your blessings slip away. Proclaim that God's promises are true in your life. Take possession of the country !

A prayer for today

Father, I believe your promises are true to me. Help me take possession of the land today. I move forward by faith to receive the inheritance you have prepared for me. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
