God changes bad for good

Searching the Scriptures

Joseph said to them : Do not be afraid ! Am I indeed in the place of God ? You planned to hurt me, God changed it for good to accomplish what is happening today, to save the lives of many people. Genesis 50.19-20

When reading the Bible, it is essential to understand the fundamental principle that God is good and the devil is bad. God is not the source of sickness, death or mourning. In John 10:10 it is written : “Satan is the one who comes to steal, kill and destroy,” and he will use people and situations to cause you trouble.

However, when you trust God and continue to speak and act according to his Word, God will take the evil that the devil had planned and change it to something good, as he did for Joseph. His brothers ganged up against him and sold him into slavery in Egypt. His father, the only person who would have wanted him back, assumed he was dead.

As a slave, Joseph served honorably in Potiphar's house, but the woman of the house coveted the young slave. Joseph acted righteously. He has fled the opportunity to commit sexual sin multiple times. But Potiphar's wife accused him of attempted rape, so Joseph was thrown in jail.

He hadn't done anything wrong and yet he spent several years in prison. And even in prison, Joseph did a great job. He interpreted the dreams of the butler and the chief baker of the pharaoh who were also prisoners, and finally, he was released to interpret the dream of the pharaoh. His wisdom and ability to interpret Pharaoh's dream led to his promotion: from prisoner to prime minister.

Joseph, who had arrived in Egypt in chains as a slave, became by an incredible combination of circumstances, second in power, in the most powerful nation in the world. God then used Joseph to save the nation of Israel by providing food for his father, Jacob, and his eleven brothers ; the rulers of what would one day be the twelve tribes of Israel. The evil that Satan intended to do, God changed for good.

Trust in God. He can turn a horrible situation into a blessing. Keep a good attitude! The evil that Satan plans to do, God will change for good.

Listen to the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God means. Perhaps you are living in an oppressive situation ? Watch God make your enemies the platform you will stand on tomorrow.

Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example prayer : "Lord, I choose to trust you despite circumstances which seem humanly disadvantageous."

Praise God

To praise God is to show him our gratitude. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a time to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our route for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Thank you Lord for turning evil into good. Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, amen!"
