God combat for you !

Searching the Scriptures

Or, [their plan] is from God, and then you cannot destroy it. Do not take the risk of fighting against God. Acts 5.39

Many in Jerusalem had welcomed the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2). They had experienced his power, which changes lives and performs miracles, and saw "many signs and wonders" (Acts 5:12).

But soon after these events, the ruling religious authorities struggled to reassert their authority. Peter and John were arrested and thrown into prison. While the Jewish council (the Sanhedrin) was discussing how to proceed, one of its members, a respected master of the law named Gamaliel, made a proposal that won general support.

The only really important question, he noted, was whether this undertaking came "from God" (Acts 5:39). If not, she was doomed. She would come to a halt, failing to receive her protection, her confirmation and her blessing. As the course of events had to prove, the work of these men was indeed of God. This is why, as Gamaliel predicts, no project designed to harm them succeeds.

If these disciples had tried to fight with their own strength, they would have failed. They would have been gripped with discouragement or frustration, fear or worry, but God was on their side and they could rely on him. Confident in him, they were victorious.

Today, remember that people in the world may attack you, threaten you, persecute you, exclude you, pressure you to behave like them, ridicule you or laugh at you. For this reason, you need to be sure that your life is pleasing to God, that he is with you.

In the face of challenges, trials and temptations, do not rely on your strength. Instead, turn these situations over to God. Be sure to obey his Word and follow the injunctions of his Spirit. Seek out his kingdom first. Let Him take away your doubts and burdens, and replace your fears with peace, your uncertainty with confidence. Remember, he's on your side. He combat for you !

Listen the voice of God

Let’s take the time to listen to what God means. Are you under pressure right now ? Proclaim that God is combat for you.

Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example prayer : “Father, my desire is to serve you. I entrust you with the following situations: [list what is difficult for you]. I trust you. Thank you for the victory. In the name of Jesus. Amen."

Praise God

To praise God is to show him our gratitude. What are your subjects of recognition today ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our route for the day comes to an end. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Lord, I thank you because you are with me in my battles. Yours is the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
