God holds his word

"What I said, I make it happen." Isaiah 46:11

Friends may forget to keep their promises, but God, never! He pledged his reputation by promising to realize every word he uttered. "Thou hast magnified thy promise beyond all fame" (Psalms 138: 2).

If God has said it, he will !

But be careful, if he has laid down a condition, you must fill it up to receive what he has promised. After having confronted the prophets of Baal, "Elijah said to Ahab," Go up, eat and drink, for this roaring is rain "(1 Kings 18:41). Ahab goes to eat and drink, while Elijah, on the summit of Carmel, begins to pray face to face. Not the slightest downpour has fallen for three and a half years, but Elijah has just fulfilled the conditions of God and the long awaited rain finally arrives.

Often we claim what God promised without examining the conditions. They are, however, an integral part of many of God's promises, and he is waiting for us to fulfill them.

God will do what he says if you follow the example of Elijah :

1. Believe in the promise,

2. Fulfill the conditions,

3. Persevere in prayer, with the certainty that God will keep his word,

4. Be patient. Seven times in succession, Elijah sent his servant out to watch the signs of rain, without ever doubting God's promise. The seventh time, the rain eventually fell.

Action for Today

Have you fulfilled the conditions that accompany the promise you are claiming ? Do your part and observe God to honor his word for you : "What I have said, I make it happen, what I have conceived, I execute" (Isaiah 46:11).
