God is faithful to his children

We must be fully aware of the Enemy's stratagems and methods. The most powerful weapon in Satan's arsenal is a vicious lie - coming from the master of lies ! So what is his biggest lie ? That God is not faithful to His people.

As he has done throughout history, Satan wants to attack our homes, our marriages, our children, our health, our work and our career, our belief even in God. Jesus said to Peter : "Satan has asked you to sift you like wheat" (Luke 22:31).

You may wonder : "How exactly can things go wrong for a Christian ? What does God allow when He gives His permission for us to be riddled ?" I refer you to the text of Hebrews 11 where we read the multitude of trials endured by the martyrs and heroes of faith. The Scripture says about them : "They have received a good testimony because of their faith" (see 11:39).

The same kind of suffering and hardship experienced by early Christians is now coming to believers all over the world. Christians in the Middle East face severe threats because of their faith and many have had to flee to stay alive, leave their homes, work and church. Many Christians have even been killed - yet those who remain continue to bring the gospel to the foreign countries where they were banned because of the war. Through all that they have undergone, they have discovered that God is faithful to His children.
