God is in control !

Your strength will be in calm and confidence. Isaiah 30.15

Imagine a huge 747 landing at the end of the runway. He is ready for takeoff. The passengers have been seated and the pilot, co-pilot and crew are each at their posts. All equipment has been checked and everything is in order. The tower has given take-off clearance. Everything is ready... except there is no kerosene in the tanks !

This aircraft, no matter how well equipped, will never leave the ground without fuel. Even with a perfectly qualified crew and sophisticated instruments. Without kerosene, he has absolutely no chance of success. Fuel is to the plane what confidence is to a Christian.

Even if everything else is in order, a Christian will never experience the successful life God has planned for them if they lack confidence. In fact, I believe that a self-confident unbeliever can accomplish more in this world than a Christian who lacks it.

"When your trust is in the Lord, the limits disappear !"

This trust I am telling you about is based on the Lord... not on your own strength or intelligence. When you have placed your trust in him, no matter how you feel, God is able to do all that he has promised. You may feel insecure or scared, guilty or incompetent, it doesn't matter !

When you have an attitude of trust, based on the Lord, on his strength and wisdom, your feelings and impressions do not matter. Confidence is not about feelings! If your attitude is marked by confidence, you will be able to approach all situations of life with a "holy tranquility", a boldness which comes from the certainty that everything is in the hands of God.

Do you live every day and view every situation in your life as if everything depends on you - your strengths, your wisdom or your good ideas ? This type of attitude will only bring you tension, stress and a lack of confidence. On your own, you will always have limits, but when your trust is in the Lord, limits disappear !

Advice for today

Place your trust in the Lord and stop relying on your wisdom. This will save you a lot of worries. The Lord is in control ! Be confident !
