God is spirit, just like you !

Searching the Scriptures

If you live conforming to your own nature, you are going to die, but if by the Spirit you kill the ways of doing things of the body, you will live. Indeed, all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Romans 8.13-14

God is not a feeling ; God is spirit, just like you ! You were created in his image ! You are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body. Your spirit is the reborn part of you.

As a born again believer, the Holy Spirit lives in your spirit. Your spirit was recreated at your new birth. Your soul and body do not change unless you renew them through the Word of God.

Your soul understands your thought, your will and your emotions. We cannot ignore the fact that people have feelings, but the Word of God clearly says that we are not to let our feelings (or emotions) lead us.

Feelings are temporary and can change at any time. The Word of God is eternal and never fails. Feelings are based on external circumstances. They can lead you in the wrong direction, and very often they do.

Feelings are part of the world of the flesh and Romans 8.13-14 tells us that living according to the flesh leads to death. The flesh (which includes your body and your mind, your will and your emotions) wants to do what is contrary to the Word of God. However, you can renew your thinking through the Word and harmonize your body and soul with spirit.

Whether or not your prayers are answered has nothing to do with how you feel. Your prayers are answered based on your faith and in accordance with the Word of God. If you ask for something according to his will, he hears you and, if you know that he hears you, you know that you have what you asked for.

Listen to the voice of God

Let’s take the time to listen to what God means. What is the word or prayer that he puts in your heart ?

Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, teach me to discern your will and to let myself be led by your Holy Spirit in every detail of my life."

Praise God

To praise God is to show him our gratitude. What are your subjects of recognition today ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our route for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Lord, thank you for making me a wonderful creature with body, soul and spirit. Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, amen !"
